DeepTrace

DeepTrace is a two-pass AI analysis engine that reads your entire AlgoTrace history — all your conversations, problems attempted, and patterns discussed — and produces a structured learning map of where you are right now.

Think of it as a quarterly review for your DSA skills: it tells you what you're strong at, what you've only seen once, and exactly what to practice next.

How It Works (Under the Hood)

DeepTrace runs two AI passes:

  • 1.
    Pass 1 — Analysis: scans all your sessions, extracts the algorithms, patterns, and problems you've practiced. Produces a candidate pool of relevant problems and patterns.
  • 2.
    Pass 2 — Semantic Re-ranking: clusters the findings, re-ranks by semantic relevance, and applies your optional query focus. Identifies blind spots and produces final recommendations.

Total time: 15–45 seconds depending on how much history you have.

How to Run DeepTrace

Click "DeepTrace" in the sidebar

Optionally add a semantic query

Focus the analysis on a specific area: e.g. "focus on graph traversal gaps" or "what DP patterns am I weakest at?". Leave blank for a full-spectrum analysis.

Click "Run DeepTrace"

A progress indicator shows while both passes run.

Navigate the results

The output renders as a layered card grid. See below for what each layer contains.

Reading the Results

Results are organized into layers:

  • ·
    Pattern clusters — your attempted problems grouped by DSA pattern (Two Pointers, BFS, DP, etc.), showing how many times you've practiced each.
  • ·
    Mastered vs. seen-once — patterns you've practiced deeply vs. patterns you've only touched once.
  • ·
    Recommended problems — for each weak area, DeepTrace surfaces the highest-value LeetCode problems to practice next.
  • ·
    Gap cards — specific blind spots with a description of why they matter and what to study.

Tip
Run DeepTrace once a month — after a focused study sprint is the ideal time. Use the recommendations as your next study plan, then run it again after completing those problems.

Activating Skills from Chat

Both TraceCards and DeepTrace can be launched directly from any chat conversation — no need to navigate away. There are two activation paths.

Via the Skills Selector

Click the "⚡ Skills" button in the chat input toolbar

It sits next to the mode pills (Learning / Reasoning / Image) in the bottom bar of any conversation.

Select DeepTrace or TraceCards from the popover

A short description explains what each skill does. Click to select.

A skill chip appears — add an optional focus query

For DeepTrace: type a focus like "what DP patterns am I weakest at?". For TraceCards: describe what to card-ify. Both are optional — leave blank for a full-scope run.

Press Enter or click Send

The skill runs against your conversation history and the result renders inline in the chat.

Via Keyword

Type /deeptrace or /tracecards at the start of your message. AlgoTrace auto-detects the keyword, converts it to the corresponding skill chip, and moves your cursor to the optional query field.

Note
Skills are distinct from chat modes (Learning / Reasoning / Image). Activating a skill temporarily disables the mode pills — they return to normal after the skill result renders.
