Flashcards

Auto-generate DSA flashcards from your AI conversations using TraceCards, then review them with spaced repetition to lock in long-term retention.

Auto-Generate with AI (TraceCards)

TraceCards generates a set of 10 flashcards directly from any chat conversation. Unlike generic DSA cards, these are personalised to your conversation — the questions target the specific concepts and edge cases you actually discussed.

How to Generate TraceCards

1

Open any chat conversation

2

Click the "TraceCards" button

This appears in the conversation header or the menu.
3

Wait for generation (5–15 seconds)

A loading indicator shows the AI is working.
4

Your card set is ready

10 cards are saved to your Flashcard library automatically, grouped as a set named after the dominant topic of the conversation.

Pro vs Max Card Quality

The two plans generate different quality cards from the same conversation:

  • ·
Pro Pro — Standard cards powered by Trace AI. Questions cover the core patterns and concepts from the conversation. Good for building breadth.
  • ·
Max Max — Deep contextual cards powered by Trace AI (Reasoning). The AI specifically targets misconceptions and clarifying questions from your conversation. Cards are harder and more specific. Good for building depth.
Plan
TraceCards requires Pro or Max.
Pro: 3 sets/month · Max: 30 sets/month. Quotas reset on the 1st of each month.

Spaced Repetition Review

Go to Notebooks → Flashcards to review your cards. AlgoTrace uses a spaced repetition algorithm (SM-2) to schedule reviews — cards you find hard come back sooner, cards you find easy come back later.

The Review Session

1

Cards due today are shown first

The due count badge on the Flashcards nav item tells you how many are waiting.
2

See the front of the card (the question)

Read it and try to recall the answer before flipping.
3

Click the card to flip it

The back (answer) is revealed.
4

Rate yourself: Easy · Medium · Hard

  • ·Easy — you recalled it confidently. Next review is scheduled further out.
  • ·Medium — you recalled it with some effort. Next review is in a few days.
  • ·Hard — you struggled or forgot. The card comes back soon, possibly tomorrow.
5

Repeat until "All done" appears

A summary shows how many cards you reviewed and your rating distribution.
Tip
Review your due cards for 10–15 minutes before starting each LeetCode session. Consistent daily review compounds into deep, durable pattern recognition — the single biggest factor separating fast solvers from slow ones.
